Garmin Sharp's Lachlan Morton won the third stage of the Larry H Miller Tour Of Utah.

A 191km stage from Richfield to Payson saw twenty one riders make an early break.

They had taken a break of 4.10 before the opening sprint of the day after 74km at Manti saw Eric Young take the five points and the five points in the second sprint at Fountain Green.

As the escapers started to be reeled in by a peloton led by Jens Voigt, Lachlan Morton of Garmin Sharp, was first over the summit at Mt Nebo, after coming out of the peloton and then went away on his own when the rest of the escapers were caught with 33kms to go.

There was to be no catching Morton, who was a minute clear going into the final kilometre and he rode to a victory in 4,20.20, some thirty three seconds, ahead of Greg Van Avermaet of BMC and Lucas Eusher of United Healthcare.
