Sacha Modola won the The Trofeo Palma de Mallorca.

This race is part of the Challenge 2014 series of cycle races held in Mallorca and saw the riders including Brits David Millar, Ben Swift, Adam Yates, Erick Rowsell, Simon Yates and Jon McEvoy,  taking on a 12km circuit around Palma.

Alex Howes (Garmin Sharp), Ian Boswell (Team Sky), Alexandre Pichot (Europcar), Amets Txurruka (Caja Rural) and Ronan Van Zandbeek (Cyclingteam de Rijke) got away and established a lead of a minute before Team Sky, Orica Green Edge and Lampre brought them back.

With everyone together, the sprint trains jockeyed for postition but no-one was really dominating and with 300ms to go, Sacha Modola of the Lampre Team attacked.

Dutchman Dylan Groenewegen came in with his arms raised thinking he had won the race but the race commissars took Modolo to the podium and awarded him the win in a time of 2.29.12 ahead of Lotto's Jens Debusschere and Gronewegen.

David Millar rode well and came in 19th with Ben Swift 35th and Adam Yates 59th.
