Australian rider Michael Rogers has been provisionally suspended by his Tinkoff-Saxo team after an adverse analytical finding for clenbuterol was discovered in his testing.

Rogers has been advised by the UCI that he returned an adverse analytical finding for clenbuterol in an A-sample taken in connection with Japan Cup on the 20th October 2013 and notified his team, saying according to a press release from Tinkoff-Saxo that he did not ingest the substance knowingly nor deliberately.

He rode in the Tour of Beijing the week before the Japan Cup and had travelled directly from China to Japan and now fears that and fears that the adverse analytical finding were from a contaminated food source.

Tinkoff-Saxo are making no further comments on the matter until they receive more information.
