Man Dies In RideLondon 100

A 55 year old man died yesterday during the RideLondon 100 race.

The man, who was one of 26,00 riders taking part, is said to have collapsed on the Leith Hill climb and despite attempts to save him, he sadly passed away at the scene.

A number of agencies including Surrey Air Ambulance and Surrey Police attended the incident.

Ride London are being quoted by the BBC as saying: "The RideLondon welfare team were helping the rider's family and no more information would be released without the family's consent."
