Katusha's Alexandr Kristoff has won the second stage of the Arctic Race Of Norway.

Another 207km stage. This time from Honningsvåg to Alta saw Hagen, Erland, Evrard & P.Theodorsen take an eight minute lead after 45kms.

With 64kms left, race leader Lars Peder Nordhaug of Belkin, was hit by another rider as he was off his bike trying to take a comfort break and he needed a new bike.

The four escapers which included three Norwegians were 2.31 ahead.

Inside the final thirty kilometres and there was still no chace from the peloton who were an hour behind schedule.

Andreas Erland ahead of Hagen, took the sprint with 24kms to go at Saerves and the duo ploughed on with a 31 second lead.

The peloton finally woke up and Erland and Hagen sat up, shook hands and let the lead out trains for Giant Shimano and Katusha pass them.

With 8.4kms left, there was a massive crash with at least fifteen riders down, some of whom ended up in ditches, due to a bottle being flung out of a bike.

Belkin brought the race leader to the front of a now nervous peloton.

Giant Shimano did the same protecting Marcel Kittel before Cofidis took the pace up going under the flam rouge.

Giant Shimano went for it but it was Norwegian Alexandr Kristoff of Katusha who took the win in 5.30.08 ahead of Thor Hushovd and Theuns.
