Kittel Wins Omloop van het Houtland Lichtervelde

Argos Shimano's Marcel Kittel recorded his sixteenth victory of the season at the 69th Omloop van het Houtland Lichtervelde in Belgium.

The 190.6km race, started by 177 riders in Lichtervelde  finished in a bunch sprint which Kittel won to record Argos Shimano's 23rd win of the season, ahead of Nacer Bouhanni and Jens Debusschere.

"Our race today was all down to great teamwork," said a jubilant Kittel to the Argos Shimano press office after his victory. 

"We were always aware of what was going on and when the boys closed the gap to the break away and put me in position I had to finish it off.

 "The way we worked filled me with confidence and of the win relieves some pressure from my shoulders. I am proud of this win and can now look forward to the last race of the season in the Münsterland Giro."
