Keighley Trip For Coventry Bears

Coventry Bear Rugby League travel to Keighley Cougars this afternoon.

The game will be an emotional one following the death of Danny Jones last week and is only going ahead at the request of his family,

Coventry Bears coach Tom Tsang has acknowledged how emotional this game will be, following the passing of Jone and said: "It’s going to be emotional for everyone involved.

"I think they’re expecting close to a sell-out crowd. In terms of us as a team, we’ve got to try our best to prepare as normal and treat it as a normal game, go up there and do the occasion justice.

“Although both teams will be wanting to win for various reasons, at the end of the day the result will probably pale into insignificance.

Coventry Bears players will make a donation from their match fee towards the RFL's Benevolent fund which has been set up in support of Danny's family while we will be presenting a signed and framed jersey on the day to commemorate the match in honour of Danny.
