Jesper Hansen Wins Tour Of Norway

Jesper Hansen of Tinkoff Saxo has won the Tour of Norway.

Jesper Hansen of Tinkoff Saxo was the race leader with a fifity four second advantage going into the fifth and final 175km stage from Flå to Hønefoss (Eggemoen).

The riders set off from the Bear Park and eight were able to take a lead of 2.35 as they passed through the feedzone after 92kms on a wet day.

With 63km to go, the eight-man leading group were still 2:35 ahead and going into the final fifty kilometres of the race, the gap was 2.15.

The front group was reduced to Vegard Breen and fellow Norwegians Groendahl Jansen and Hafsas, who had a lead of 1.35 with 31.5kms left.

Fifteen kilometres later and this trio were 1.15 ahead but only thirty seconds for Breen and Hafsas ahead of Vangstad and Groendahl Jansen going onto the final twelve kilometre lap.

With two kilometres to go, Breen lost contact with Andreas Vangstad who had joined him after Hafsas fell away. 

Vangstad stayed away with a ten second lead over the peloton going into the final eight hundred metres and the Sparenbanken Sor rider won the stage in 4.10.26, eleven seconds ahead of Galta and fourteen seconds ahead of Kristoff, Ligthart, Guldhammer, Mollema,  Van der Sande, Laengen, Eijssen and Hoem.

Jesper Hansen finshed safely to win the race overall.
