The bike which has came into being thanks to engineers at Jaguar Land Rover in Coventry, has been given an industry award.

The Pinarello Dogma F8 bike which was riden by Chris Froome for Team Sky has been named as the gold winner in the Product Design, Sport and Active Life category in the London Design Awards.

Team Sky's Head of Technical Operations and Commercial Carsten Jeppesen said in a press statement: "Our partnership with Jaguar is unique for the cycling industry. The access we have to their industry leading design & engineering expertise, as well as their computational fluid dynamics capability and wind tunnel facility has made a big difference.

"Jaguar's award-winning product development continues to strengthen our performances, both on and off the road, so the value they bring to the team is significant and goes beyond most commercial partnerships."

Jaguar Land Rover's Global Brand Experience Director Mark Cameron added: “It’s a huge accolade for Jaguar to receive this award in only our first year as Innovation Partner to Team Sky. It’s richly deserved recognition for our design and engineering team, who helped develop this ground-breaking bike that delivers exceptional performance and style on the road.”
