Former Coventry Bees rider Kyle Howarth won the British Under-21 Championship at Brandon on Tuesday evening.

Howarth scored fourteen points and qualified for the final with Robert Lambert who won in all of his five heats.

Ashley Morris, Max Clegg, Stefan Nielsen and James Shanes all earned enough points to make it to the semi final which Morris won ahead of Coventry Bees assett Stefan Nielsen to go through to the final.

Morris was excluded after failing in the final and Howarth rode to victory ahead of Lambert and Nielsen.

Howarth said to the Coventry Bees website about his victory: “It feels nice, it was a tough meeting and I had a bit of a crash in the last qualifying race, but we got it together and I couldn’t have asked for a better result. It’s my last time in this meeting so I’m stoked.

“Obviously I was winning in the first start of the Final so to go into a re-run is hard, and I know Robert is no slouch and he was on it tonight.

“I knew I had to do something special, I didn’t actually make the start but I went for the big one and it paid off.”
