Hofland Wins Tour Of Utah Stage Three

Belkin's Moreno Hofland has won his second stage of the Tour Of Utah with victory on the third stage.

A 190.3km stage which started at the headquarters of IM Flash Technologies in Lehi and finished with three laps of the Miller Motorsports circuit at Tooele, started with an attack from Robin Carpenter of Hincapie Sports, Jacob Rathe of Jelly Belly, Ben Jacques-Maynes of Jamis, Darren Lapthorne of Drapac, Danny Eaton of Bissell and Danny Summerhill of UntedHealthCare.

As they headed along the western shores of Utah Lake, their lead was 2.45 after forty seven kilometres.

The day's King Of The Mountains climb came at the ghost mining town of Eureka and Robin Carpenter took the maximum points on the club before dropping back towards the peloton, who were 2.50 behind with 52kms remaining.

Jens Voigt was amongst those leading the chase and with seven kilometres to go, Rathe launched a solo raid but only managed a ten second lead before he was caught with five kilometres left.

UnitedHealthCare and Belkin controlled the peloton from the front and Belkin's Moreno Hofland was able to take his second stage victory in this race ahead of Palini, Young , Hansen,  Howes, Kocjan, Zabel, Reijnen, Marangoni and Mannion.

Slovenian Jure Kocjan of Team Smartstop now leads the race.
