Team Garmin-Cervelo won the Tour Of Qatar Time Trial today.
On an 11.3km circuit around Lusail, all the team had to use their normal road bikes and it was Garmin who were the early leaders finishing in a time of 12.38:06.
Mark Cavendish led Team Sky and they came in at 12:47: 31, some, nine seconds down.
Leader Tom Boonen's Omega Pharma Quick Step team, were the last team on the road and needed to be within seven seconds of Garmin and they just did it by three hundredths of a second, to keep the Belgian in the leaders gold jersey and take second place.
Garmin's Tyler Farrer is second on the same time as Boonen. Farrar speaking to Eurosport said that it was a great team win and good to get off to a good start.
