Chris Froome won the Tour Of Oman 

The final stage was a 144km stage from  Hawit Nagam Park to Matrah Cornich and after a delayed start of twenty minutes racing got under way with Chris Froome in both the leaders and points jersey.

Gatis Smukulis (KAT), Wesley Kreder (VCD) and Andrea Di Corrado (BAR) were the first to attack and had a lead of 6.20 by the time, Di Corrado won the first sprint after 32.5kms.

The first climb swiftly followed with Smukulis first over the summit.

The trio had a lead of 25 seconds as they approached the Matriah Corniche circuit where they had to ride two and a half laps. 

With the escapers caught on the first lap, there was eighty riders in the first group led by Phillippe Gilbert.

The stage came down to a sprint which was won by Nacer Bouhanni beating Matt Goss and Taylor Phinney.

Chris Froome finished safely in the pack and won the race overall by 27 seconds from Alberto Contador and Cadel Evans.
