Chris Froome will ride in Australia in December.
The Team Sky rider has been lined up to ride with team mate Richie Porte in the Stan Siejka Launceston Cycling Classic in Tasmania.
Around a hundred riders are expected to compete in the Criterium event on December 6th/7th, which was won by Caleb McEwen of Orica Green Edge in December 2013.
Race director Nigel Baker is quoted as saying: “We are excited and honoured to not only have Richie support and race at his home event again,” said race director Nigel Baker.
“But to also have a Grand Tour winner in Chris Froome racing is a massive coup.”
