Coventry Blaze Ice Hockey team have said that Trevor Frischmon has left the club and returned home to the USA.

Frischmon, played 3 games for the Blaze, recording a goal and an assist before beginning to feel unwell after playing.  The Blaze medical staff referred Frischmon for a scan and tests where abnormalities were identified such that he was advised to discontinue playing and return to North America for further investigation and treatment.

“It’s a blow for the club,” said Director of Hockey, James Pease to the Blaze website. “But it was undoubtedly a bigger blow for Trevor.  He was enjoying being here and even after just a couple of games, we could see the quality that he has as a player.

“But it was pretty clear that he didn’t feel right after playing so it was important to get him properly checked out.  The results of his scan were undoubtedly a surprise to both Trevor and ourselves but it was immediately clear that his first priority should be to return home and focus on his health rather than hockey.

“He was a top professional in the very short time he was with us and we are sad to see him have to leave so soon.  He returns home with our thoughts and best wishes.”
