Farrar Wins Tour de l'Eurométropole Third Stage

Garmin Sharp's Tyler Farrar won the Tour de l'Eurométropole Third Stage

A 164.2km stage from Hazebrouck to Nieuport saw a couple of early attacks before Bol took the first six points on offer for being first at the GPM checkpoint.

Bol, Belkov and Haussler took a lead of six minutes after 35kms and Bol continued to rack up the points with the next three GPM checkpoint wins.

Haussler took the sprint points but his break was caught and the peloton split into three groups with fifteen seconds between the first two groups.

Van Hoecke and Vanmarke took to the front gaining a 19 second lead on Stassen and Rickaert who caught them before they were brought back by the peloton and race leader Jens Debusschere took the second sprint to give him a three second lead over Michael Morkov.

The riders were back together for the sprint which Porsev won and for the last five kilometres which resulted in a sprint which Tyler Farrar won in a time of 3.47.16 ahead of Janse Van Rensburg of Argos-Shimano and Arnaud Demare of FDJ. 

Jens Debusschere of Lotto Belisol leads Michael Morkov of Saxo-Tinkoff by three second and Tyler Farrar by seven seconds going into the final stage from Mons to Tournai.
