Cadel Evans of BMC has won the Giro Del Trentino in Italy.

The Australian went into the fourth and final stage of the 38th Giro with a fifty second lead over AG2R's Domenico Pozzovivo and it was a 175km stage from Val Daone to Monte Bondone (Trento) that saw Movistar's British rider Alex Dowsett away with Rosa and Duque.

Dowsett and Duque were dropped before the fifty kilometres gone mark, leaving Rosa away with a 1.15 second lead.

Malori, Serpa, Moser, Deignan, Zilloili, Sella, Pagani, Duque, Rutkiewicz, Janse van Rensburg and Monsalve all bridged to Rosa who was now 3.46 ahead after 94kms.

BMC brought the escapers back with nineteen kilometres left and race leader Cadel Evans, Pozzovivo, Duarte and Meintjes were on the attack with Sir Bradley Wiggins leading the chase group, which included  Scarponi, Aru, Landa, Niemec, Morabito, Pellizotti and Bongiorno.

Meintjes attacked with six kilometres to go, leading until 1.5kms to when he was joined by Astana's Mikel Landa who surged past him and took the win in 4.49.39.

MTN's Louis Meintjes was second with Androni's Franco Pellizotti third some 35 seconds down, Niemiec fourth and race leader Cadel Evans in fifth, a placing good enough to give him overall victory.
