Former boxer Errol Christie has been diagnosed with lung cancer.
The uncle of former Coventry City defender Cyrus and a former President Kennedy pupil, has vowed to fight this and told the Coventry Telegraph's Ben Ecclestone: ““I had to go for an X-ray and the doctors spotted a shadow, so they immediately sent me off for emergency tests and they said that I have got lung cancer.
“I’ve never smoked in my life and have always been a sporty person. Hopefully they have spotted it early, but I’m a fighter, I’ve always been a fighter and I will fight this until the end.
“There can be no surrender and you have got to stay in good spirits for the battle.”
