World Hour Record holder Alex Dowsett has won the time trial at the 36th Bayern Rundfahrt race in Germany.
Today, the riders took on a 26.1km time trial at Einzelzeitfahren Haßfurt and Jan Barta set the early time to beat of 31.49.
However, Dowsett rode superbly to finish in 31min 33sec, one second faster than runner-up Tiago Machado (Katusha) and 16 seconds ahead of third-placed Jan Barta (Bora-Argon 18) and take his first victory since the Commonwealth games and the leader's jersey going into Sunday's fifth and final stage, a rolling 197.8km route from Hassfurt to Nurnberg.
