Jonathan Trott hit an unbeaten 219 for Warwickshire County Cricket Club on the third day of their County Championship game with Middlesex at Lords.

Warwicks resumed on 146.4 with Trott on 62 and the former England international batted steadily whilst Warwicks lost Tim Ambrose for six and Ricky Clarke for two.

Trott and Keith Barker came together and put on 143 before Barker was bowled by Murtagh after making 81.

Jeetan Patal added thirty and Chris Wright seven as Trott brought up his double century from 274 balls.

Warwicks by now had passed Middlesex's first innings total of 452 and with a lead of sixteen and Trott on 219, Oliver Hannon Dalby was caught after making thirty runs to see Warwicks all out for 468.

With Middlesex now ahead by two runs, Keith Barker had Gubbins caught by Varun Chopra for six. The same pair then combined to remove Malan without scoring.
