Degenklob Wins La Vuelta Stage 10

John Degenklob  won the tenth stage of La Vuelta a Espana this afternoon.

After yesterday's rest day, the riders moved on to stage ten which was a 190kms stage from Ponteareas to Sanxenxo.

Adrian Palomares Villaplana (Andalucia) and Javier Francisco Aramendia Lorente (Caja Rural) attacked within the first five kilometres of the start.

A seven minnute lead was whittled away by the peloton which included race leader Joaquin Rodriquez and second placed Chris Froome who had admitted that one of his heroes is Jens Voigt.

As the duo went along the coast with 73kms to go, their lead was cut to 1.22.

The lead did go back out to three and a half minutes but with 35kms to go, it was all over.

Round the Galician coast and into tow, the peloton went with Team Sky and Radio Shack Nissan at the front. 

John Degenklob was on the front and held on to win in a time of 4.47.24 ahead of Bouhanni. Ben Swift was ninth.
