De Bie Wins GP Impanis-Van Petegem

Lotto Soudal's Sean De Bie has won the GP Impanis - Van Petegem.

This 199,2km race from Brakel to Haacht, attracted seven World Tour Teams, eight pro continental teams and five continental teams and saw a quartet of De Marchi (BMC), De La Cruz (Etixx), Morice (Europcar), Van Goethem (Roompot) go clear..

They had a lead of 3.15 with 64kms left which was down to 1.24 with 37kms remaining. 

Seven kilometres later and the break was over as a group of forty riders went past.

Gerts, Ligthart, Veuchelen and Brambilla took over, staying clear until there was 6.4kms to go and Jasper De Buyst had a go.

Sean De Bie and Gerts made a move with 2.5kms to go and a kilometre later, De Bie went away and he took the win ahead of Claeys and Gerts.
