Davis New British U23 Champion

Scott Davies have been crowned the new British U23 Time Trial champion after taking victory at British National Championships in Monmouthshire.

The eighteen year old Madison Genesis rider Davies clocked a time for the thirteen mile course of 27.45 beating British track champion and local favourite Owain Doull, who finished in 28.09 and  Dan McLay, who was the last man on the podium in a time of 28.44 on a course around Celtic Manor Golf Course and hotel, near Newport.

Defending champion Sam Harrison did not take part as Rapha Condor JLT’s Hugh Carthy set the fastest time early on with a 28-58, the same time as Harry Tanfield of KTM Road, before Davies flew home in 27.45.

Lotto Belisol's Dan McLay went second with a time of 28:44 but Davies time was holding with only race favourite An Post Chain Reaction’s Owain Doull, left to finish.

The rider from Cardiff posted a time of 28.09 which was good enough for second but it was Scott Davies who takes the win.
