British rider Steve Cummings won the Tour Méditerranéen time trial in Saint Rémy de Provence and takes over the lead of the race going into the final stage.

Stage 3B of this race in Southern France was a hilly 18.2km time trial and saw Vorobyev set the early fastest time of 25:59.

Gerard came in 19 seconds quicker but his lead only lasted until Pirazzi set the new fastest time of 25:23.

BMC's Taylor Phinney rode well and took over as the leader setting a time of 25:17 which was then beaten by Roy, Sepulveda and Riccardo Zoidl of Trek Factory Racing, who finished in 26.31.

However, Steve Cummings who admitted to finding the course which has climbs that were not too steep to his liking, was fastest at the intermediate checkpoint.

Cummings from The Wirral (pictured above), kept going and took the lead when he finished in 24.27.

Last down the ramp was race leader John Degenkolb who had won the first three stages but he could only finish 1.28 down on Cummings's time and it is the BMC rider who leads the race going into the final stage, by four seconds from Zoldi and ten seconds from Sylvain Chavanel in third.
