Coventry born Cal Crutchlow finished seventh in the Moto GP of the Americas in Austin, Texas.
Crutchlow, who had dinner with Carol Vorderman, started on the second row but dropped down to tenth before coming back to eighth when two riders went down.
With ten laps to go, Crutchlow was in seventh place and he stayed there as Mar Marquez won the race.
