Coventry Storm Travel To Birmingham

Coventry Storm travel to National League leaders Birmingham on Wednesday.

The Brummies have lost just one match in all competitions this season and showed their all-round strength in a 64-26 home demolition of King’s Lynn last week.

With Dan Greenwood on the sidelines due to a broken collarbone, the Storm have booked Ellis Perks to guest at No.1 as they return to Perry Barr a month after the previous attempt to run the meeting was cut short due to torrential downpours.

Liam Carr is officially named as Storm captain, whilst the Brummies go into the meeting also without an injured No.1 as Zach Wajtknecht is replaced by Luke Chessell.

Storm boss Laurence Rogers said: “We were doing well there the other week without Jamie Halder, and we’ll go there to hopefully surprise them. Jamie came back very well at Buxton.

“It’s a shame about Dan because he was having a good ride until he was speared in the corner at Buxton, he’s now having the collarbone plated and that may well be it for the season for him.

“When I looked at the averages it was clear that Ellis fits nicely, and he’s ridden there before so hopefully he will produce the goods for us.

“We will probably lose the guest facility when the next averages come out, and as for bringing someone in we’ll have to look at who’s out there. It’s a shame James Sarjeant can’t jump back in, I’d love to have Sarj, but there aren’t many options.”

Coventry supporters who attended the abandoned fixture at Perry Barr in July are reminded they can gain admission on Wednesday for £10 with tickets from that meeting.
