Coventry Storm Speedway team were beaten 58-36 at Eastbourne this afternoon.
The Storm with rider replacement for Luke Chang and Mark Saul & Sean Phillips guesting, suffered 5-1 losses in the opening two heats and after a 3-3, a 4-2 defeat in heat four.
That put them ten points down so Dan Greenwood took a tactical ride but could only finish second in a 5-3.
Eastbourne, who had George Wood withdraw with a suspected broken collarbone, took a 4-2 win as did the Storm but Eastbourne came back with five 4-2's to lead 38-24 after ten heats.
The Storm had a 4-2 win in heat eleven which was cancelled out in the next heat.
Dan Greenwood finished second as Eastbourne took heat thirteen 4-2 and with the Storm only taking four points from the last two heats, they went down to a 58-36 defeat
