In front of a crowd of 994 at Butts Park Arena, Cov scored two, converted tries to lead 14-0.
Blaydon came back with a converted try and a penalty to see Cov four points up at half-time.
The visitors took the lead with a converted try but Cov ran in a try to take a 19-17 win.
