Coventry Cycle Speedway Club have this week become an officially accredited `Go-Ride` club. It means the club has been accepted by the sport’s governing body – British Cycling – as a cycling club that meets best management practice in its operations.

The recent acceptance of a qualified coach – Myke Grimes – was the final requirement for the club to meet its British Cycling `Go-Ride` qualification standard. It ensures the club is in a better position to apply for funding, grants and major events.

Club spokesman Andy Drewett said: “In amongst all our successes over the past four years, we have steadily built up our management systems and structures to ensure best practice. The accreditation of `Go-Ride` is just reward for all our off-track volunteers”.
