Coventry Blaze Through To Play-Off Weekend

Coventry Blaze ice Hockey team are through to the Elite League Play-Off weekend after a 3-3 draw at Sheffield Steelers tonight.

The Blaze travelled to Sheffield tonight with a 5-3 lead and were ahead on 1.06 when Russ Cowley scored, assisted by Cale Tanaka.

However, Mathieu Roy equalised on 12.25 on the powerplay and the Steelers went into the second period ahead thanks to a goal from Jayce Coyle on 17.01.

The scores were tied on aggregate when Colton Fretter netted on 30.17 on the powerplay to see the Blaze 3-1 down on the night.

Into the third and the Blaze had a second goal to go back in front on aggreagate when Drew Fisher scored on 48.56.

With twenty seconds of the match left, Russ Cowley went away and scored and the Blaze were on their way to Nottingham.
