Coventry Blaze Lose In Goal Fest

Coventry Blaze were beaten 9-5 at Sheffield Steelers in a Challenge Cup tie tonight.

The Blaze went a goal down when Fretter scored on 9.21 but were level on 13.46 when Jim Jorgensen scored, assisted by Carnevale and Robinson. 

Back came Sheffield with goals from Fretter at 14.52 and Roy from Schultz on 15.03 to see Coventry 3-1 down at the end of the first period.

Garrett Kolz pulled a goal back on 23.06 before Liam Stewart equalised on the powerplay on 25.48.

Back came Sheffield again with Nelson on the power play scoring on 27.24 and Liam Kirk adding a fifth on 29.52 with Marc Marquardt scoring  fourth for the Blaze on 33.15 with a penalty shot.

Twenty seconds before the end of the second period and it was goal number ten of the game and six for the Steelers when Ratchuk netted.

Ferrara hit goal number seven on 47.03 with Schultz making it eight on 47.57.

Jordan Pietrus got on a deflection for the Blaze's fifth goal of the evening on 52.36 before Armstrong made it 9-5 on 53.21 to wrap up an entertaining evening.
