Coventry Blaze End 2015 With A Win

Coventry Blaze Ice Hockey team won 5-3 at Nottingham Panthers this afternoon.

At the National Ice Centre in Nottingham and watched by hundreds of travelling Blaze fans, Coventy took the lead on 3.07 through Jordan Pietrus, assisted by Drew Fisher and had Carl Lauzon add a second, assisted by Neill Trimm on 7.41.

With Moran off the ice for cross checking, the Blaze took advantage and on the powerplay, Drew Fisher, assisted by Pietrus and Jim Jorgensen scored a third on 17.07 and then a fourth on 18.58, assisted by Robinson and Jorgensen.

The Panthers pulled a goal back when MacMillan scored, assisted Swindlehurst & Lawrence on 20.58 and they got a second on 22.55 when Clarke scored assisted by Waugh and Myers.

The Blaze lose Boris Valabik to a facial injury and had Noble off for two minutes for holding and this allowed the Panthers to score on the powerplay when Moran scored on 30.27, assisted by Clarke.

On 46.37, Jordan Pietrus had his second goal of the game when he netted, assisted by Brett Robinson to put the Blaze 5-3 up.

Nottingham piled on the pressure but Brian Stewart made a massive save and the Blaze ended 2015. with a 5-3 win.
