Coventry Blaze Cannot Weather The Storm

Coventry Blaze were beaten 5-3 by Manchester Storm in an Elite League fixture tonight at the Sky Dome.

The Storm took the lead on 11.19 through Paul Phillips and added a second from Vinny Scarsella on 12.02 to take a 2-0 lead at the end of the first period.

Into the second period and on the powerplay, Cale Tanaka pulled a goal back on 24.53, assisted by Jim Jorgensen.

Matt Caria scored a third for Manchester on 27.29 with a powerplay goal and on 29.20, Dave Phillips hit the fourth.

On 42.52, The Blaze had a second goal, scored by Jordan Pietrus and assisted by Ned Lukacevic and Drew Fisher but Manchester scored again on 44.31 through Matthew Sisca.

Carl Lauzon scored a third for the Blaze on 51.48, assisted by Cale Tanaka but the Blaze, who travel to Sheffield on Friday night, were beaten.
