Coventry Bees Speedway Team won 51-42 at Leicester Lions.

At Jordan Road, the Bees had Cameron Heeps guesting at number two and after a minute's applause for Nigel Boocok who died yesterday, the meeting got underway with Heeps going with Hans Andersen.

Heeps gated and with Andersen keeping former Bees rider Rory Schlein at bay, the Bees started with a 5-1.

Jason Garrity won the second heat in a 4-2 and with a 3-3 in the third heat, the Bees took a 5-1 win in a re-run heat four after Joonas Kylmakorpi got into the lead and James Sarjeant was to follow him after getting past Wozniak.

The Bees were 17-7 up so Schlein took the tactical ride in heat five and won in a 7-2 but the Bees were back with a 5-1 for Chris Harris and Hans Andersen.

Heat seven finished in a 3-3 as did heat eight before Schlein won heat nine in a 4-2 for Leicester who trailled 25-32.

Pedersen won in another 4-2 for Leicester and after four more 3-3's, the Bees took the final heat 5-1 to win 51-42 and take the four points.
