Coventry Bees were beaten 57-35 at Lakeside Hammers tonight.

The Bees went down 5-1 in the opening but had James Sarjeant win in a 3-3 in the second.

The home side had a 4-2 and after two 3-3's, took a 5-1 to lead by ten points after six heats.

A 5-1 and a 4-2 increased that to sixteen points so Jason Garrity had the tactical ride in heat nine. With Sarjeant excluded, Garrity finished second in the re-run and the Bees could only come up with a 4-4.

After two 3-3's James Sarjeant won in heat twelve in a 4-2 for The Bees to reduce the gap to fourteen points.

Lakeside finished with two 5-1's either side of a 3-3 and it was a not unexpected heavy defeat for the Bees against a side for whom Ed Kennett and Kim Nilsson had paid maximums.
