Coventry Bees go to the Elite League Play Off Semi-Final second leg after drawing 45-45 with Poole Pirates in the First Leg at Brandon.
The Bees had Freddie Lindgren guesting and went down to a 5-1 defeat in the opening heat but James Sarjeant and Jason Garrity pulled that back with a 5-1 win.
Either side of two 3-3's, Poole took a 4-2 before a win for Hans Andersen levelled the scores again. Harris won in a 4-2 and Andersen won again in a 4-2 to see the Bees ahead by four points.
Heat ten saw Danny King get off to a flyer but he had to bail out and Darcy Ward just avoided his head. King was disqualified and Poole took a 5-1 to go into a four point lead.
In heat eleven, Garrity replaced Howarth but was shoved into the air fence. Thankfully, he was able to walk back to the pits after treatment and after the fence, had been fixed, he took his place on the grid and finshed in second place behind Janowski in a 3-3.
Garrity went again in heat twelve but after Starke went down and cleared the track, Sarjeant and Garrity chased after Kyle Newman who took the heat win in a 3-3 to preserve Poole's four points lead.
Harris and Lindgren went in heat thirteen but Poole gated with Holder taking the lead followed by Janowski and a 5-1 it was to put Poole eight points ahead.
Danny King and Hans Andersen rode needing a 5-1 win but King went down on the first corner. All four were back and King rode to win followed by Andersen to give the Bees the 5-1 win they needed.
The final heat of the night saw the Bees needing another 5-1 to go into the second leg at Wimbourne Road on Monday all square. King and Andersen went again against Holder and Janowski.
Andersen and King rode superbly and got to the front to give the Bees a 5-1 win and a 45-45 draw
