Bardiani CSF's Sonny Colbrelli has ensured that Italian riders have won every edition of the Memorial Marco Pantani race with victory in Cesenatico.

The race is now in its tenth year and dedicated to the iconic Italian rider who died in 2004 and starts and finishes in Pantani's home town of Cesenatico and heads on a 189.8km course close to his birth place of Cesena.

Twenty riders went off in a lead group which was just over a minute clear with less than fifteen kilometres to go.

A group of around thirty riders were able to join those who had stayed away and it became a sprint for the finish line with forty eight riders out of the 54 that finished in with a chance of winning.

Sonny Colbrelli, who has shown some good form over the last week, went for the line and won in 4.34.49 ahead of Grega Bole, Fabio Chinello, Rafael Andriato and Davide Vigano.
