Clásica de San Sebastián Today

The Clásica de San Sebastián takes place in the Basque region today.

The 220km race will start and finish in San Sebastián and has a course that feature three category one and three category two climbs.

As this is a World Tour event, all the World Tour teams will be taking part and some of the big names will be on the road.

Unfortunately, there will be no Alberto Contador. The Tinkoff Saxo rider and 2015 Giro D'Italia winner is still suffering with an illness and has withdrawn.

Alejandro Valdverde, who won this race in 2014 after breaking away to win, will be taking part along with two stage winner in the Tour De France Joaquim Rodriquez of Katusha, BMC's Phillip Gilbert who had a stage win in the Tour De Wallonie this week and a Team Sky team which comprises of British champion Peter Kennaugh, Irishman Nicholas Roche, Nathan Earle, Sebastian Henao, Lars Petter Nordhaug, Danny Pate, Kanstantsin Siutsou and Chris Sutton.
