Clarke Unbeaten For Warwicks At Lords

Warwickshire County Cricket Club closed on 338-6 on the opening day of their County Championship game with Middlesex at Lords.

Middlesex won the toss and put Warwicks into bat. Warwicks had Varun Chopra and Ian Westwood open and they put on sixty one before Chopra was bowled by Neil Dexter after making twenty five runs.

Seventeen runs later, Westwood followed his captain back to the pavilion when he was also bowled by Dexter after making 24.

Will Porterfield came in and added twenty five before he was trapped lbw by Murtagh. Sam Hain made ten before being out lbw to Harris and when Dexter trapped Jon Trott who made 41, Warwicks were 158-5.

Rikki Clarke and Pete McKay got together and put on forty seven before Murtagh bowled McKay.

Clarke worked well with Keith Barker to push the score on. At Stumps, Clarke was 93 not out and Barker 60 not out as Warwicks ended the day on 338-6.
