Mark Cavendish has won the Tour du Poitou Charentes stage for a second successive day.
Cavendish took victory on the 183.6kms stage from Marans – Niort, which saw Burghardt, Van Melsen, Van Hoeck & Duval in the early break.
Burghardt dropped back to the peloton, leaving Van Melsen, Van Hoeck and Duval with a lead of two minutes until they were caught with eighty kilometres remaining.
Burghardt, Van Melsen, Helven and Premont formed a new break, taking a lead of 1.20 but they were caught and everyone was back together for the sprint in Niort which Cavendish won.
