Cavendish & Tiernan-Locke Gets Portugal Start

Tour Of Qatar Winner Mark Cavendish and 2012 Tour Of Britain winner Jonathan Tiernan-Locke will ride the Volta ao Algarve which starts in Portugal today.

The four stage tour starts with a 198.8km stage from Faro to Albufeira and will provide a sprint finish. Stage Two on Friday starts and finishes in Lagoa and is 195kms long with Saturday's third stage a 193km ride from Portimao to Alto do Malhao (Loule).

The Tour ends on Sunday with a 34km Individual Time Trial from Castro Marim to Tavira.

Last year's winner Richie Porte is in the Tour Of Oman and has been replaced by Jonathan Tiernan-Locke in a Sky Team that also features Ian Boswell and Josh Edmondson as well as the more experienced Sergio Henao,  David López, Kanstantsin Siutsou, who was in the Team Sky team which won the 2012 Tour De France and Rigoberto Urán.
