Europcar's Bryan Coquard got his victory on the second stage of the Route Du Sud.

Coquard missed out on victory on the opening day when Steven Tronet of Auber 93 shot away to victory but the race leader was in the peloton as Samuel Magalhães (Radio Populat-Boavista), Mads Pedersen (Cult Energy), Yoann Paillot (Marseille 13 KTM), Eneko Lizarralde (Murias) and Camilo Castiblanco (Colombia) formed the break on a 141km stage from Auch to Saint-Gaudens

They led until twenty five kilometres to go, when on the closing laps in Saint Guardens, attacks from the peloton started to happen with Christophe Juul Jensen (Tinkoff-Saxo), Jasha Sütterlin (Movistar) and Oliver Le Gac (FDJ), catching up and passing most of the break apart from Lizzarde and Paillot and Pedersen whom they bridged to with twelve kilometres left.

AG2R closed them down but with three hundred metres to go, Paillot attacked as did Le Gac but so did Quentin Jauregui. The AG2R thought he had the race won. However, Bryan Coquard put in a tremendous spurt and stormed to the line to take the win to 3.23.25 with Quentin Jauregui a very disappointed second, followed by Fonseca, Hardy and Manzin.
