Boonen Wins The Tour Of Qatar

Tom Boonen won the Tour Of Qatar as Arnaud Demare won the final stage.

Stage six, was from Sealine Beach Resort to Doha Corniche and a 120km long stage.

Seven riders broke clear ahead of the peloton which includes Silver Sprint Jersey wearer Mark Cavendish.

They had just over a minutes lead with thrity kilometres to go, but sixteeen kilometres later, it was all over.

This has been another fast day with speeds of 55kph and with not much wind, the peloton set off to the finish line. 

Again, Team Sky were on the front with race leader Tom Boonen up at the front. looking to pick up his fourth Tour Of Qatar victory in eleven runnings.

With 2.7kms to go, Brit Adam Blythe who has had a great race, was at the front. Rabobank, trying to get a win for Mark Renshaw took over the lead duties.

There was a crash and a touch of wheels with Farrar sent Mark Cavendish to the ground, after he was blocked by Roger Kluge, leaving FDJ's Arnaud Demare to take the stage win in 2hr 20.44 ahead of Denis Galimzyanov and Mark Renshaw.

Tom Boonen was safely in the peloton and won the race from Tyler Farrar by twenty eight seconds. Adam Blythe finished tenth.
