BMC Cycling Team have said that they are pleased with the decision that absolves Greg Van Avermaet of any wrongdoing.
Van Avermaet had been mentioned in an investigation by the Belgian Cycling Federation (Koninklijke Belgische Wielrijdersbond) into Dr Chris Mertens but has been totally absolved of anything untoward.
BMC Racing Team President/General Manager Jim Ochowicz said in a press relase: "We never doubted Greg's innocence. "We are pleased with the decision."
Greg Van Avermaet admitted to being happy that the nightmare was over and said: "I am happy this nightmare is over.
"This has been a hard period for me. Finally, I can focus only on cycling. I want to thank my friends, family and the BMC Racing Team, who supported me."
