Blaze Win On Penalty Strokes

Coventry Blaze beat Dunee Stars on Penalty Strokes after a 3-3 draw at the Sky Dome tonight.

In a game which took place after a minute's applause to remember former Coventry City Chairman and Manager Jimmy Hill, The Blaze took the lead through Josh Godfrey, assisted by Neill Trimm and Carl Luazon with a powerplay goal on 10.20.

Brett Switzer levelled on 18.14 with a shorthanded goal but a crowd of 2,010, saw Drew Fisher, assisted by Brett Robinson, fire Coventry back in front a minute and five seconds into the second period.

Lou Dickenson levelled again on 27.04 and with fifty nine seconds of the game remaining, Dundee were in front through Justin Faryna.

The visiting fans joy did not last as on 59.24,Cale Tanaka, assisted by Neil Trimm and Carl Lauzon equallised to send the game into over-time.

That failed to produce a goal and so it went to penalty strokes. Up stepped Neil Trimm and he scored to give The Blaze the win.
