Coventry Blaze suffered a Boxing Day defeat to the Cardiff Devills at the Sky Dome.

The Blaze took the lead on 10.55 through Jakub Sindel, assisted by Jereme Tendler and Ben Arnt but Cardiff came back on 14.38 through Andrew Lord and less than two minutes later, Doug Clarkson has Cardiff in front at the end of the first period on the powerplay.

The Blaze levelled with a powerplay goal thanks to Ben Arnt finding the net on 24.28, assisted by Craig Cescon and Russ Cowley and went in front on 28.00 through Ryan O'Marra, assisted by James Griffin and Steve Goertzen.

Back came Cardiff with another Andrew Lord goal on 38.44 and thirty two seconds later, Andrew Holham scored to see the Blaze 4-3 down.

The South Wales side scored a fifth on 45.29 through Jesse Mychan and although James Griffin scored a fourth for the Blaze on 50.05, assisted by  Steve Goertzen and Ryan O'Marra, it was not enough to stop another defeat.
