Coventry Blaze were beaten 3-2 in over time at Sheffield Steelers

The Blaze went behind to a Michael Forney powerplay goal on 6.52 but levelled through Blaze player/coach Steve Goertzen on 10.14, assisted by Ross Venus and Ryan O'Marra.

Cullen Eddy fired the Steelers back in front on 14.17 but Goertzen led by example and drew the Blaze level on 14.43, assisted by Ross Venus and Russ Cowley.

There were no goals in the second period or the third and this sent the match into over-time.

Thirty two seconds in, Mathieu Roy scored to send the Blaze back down the M1 and M69 with only a point from their trip to the Motorpoint Arena.
