Blaze Lose Challenge Cup Tie

Coventry Blaze were beaten 6-4 at home by Cardiff Devils tonight.

The Blaze took the lead through Ned Lukacevic on 4.38, but Cardiff were level at the end of the first period with a goal from Zach Hervato.

Guillaume Doucet fired Cardiff in front on 21.59 with Joy Haddad adding a third goal on 22.50 and a fourth from Doucet on 26.29.

Brett Robinson, assisted by Neil Trimm, scored to make it 2-4 on 26.50 and this lifted the Blaze who came back with a Carl Lauzon goal, assisted by Trimm on 32.39 and another from Lauzon, assisted by Lukacevic and Fisher on 33.35 to make it 4-4 going into the third period.

There were two goals in the final period but they fell to Andrew Hotham who scored on the powerplay on 48.59 and Joey Martin on 49.34.
