Blaze Go Down Fighting

Coventry Blaze Ice Hockey team went down to a 3-1 defeat to Nottingham Panthers at the National Ice Centre in a Elite League fixture on Saturday night.

The Blaze iced Canadian defenceman Justin DaCosta and had Kyle Bochek along with the Panthers Mike Berube given five minutes for fighting on 25.14.

Twenty one seconds later, Ross Venus fired the Blaze in front before another fight saw Russ Cowley and Nathan Robinson get five minutes for fighting while Greg Jacina was thrown ouw of the game.

Into the third and the Blaze were hit three times with Chris Lawrence scoring on 44.30 with a powerplay goal. Eighteen seconds later, Steve Lee scored a second and on 46.12, Jonathan Boxill netted a third goal .

DaCosta was involved in the third fight of the night with former Blaze player Robert Farmer as the Blaze went down to defeat.
