Blaydon Races Stopped By Cov Rugby Club

Coventry Rugby Club beat Blaydon 34-15 to record their fourteenth successive win this season.

The biggest crowd of the season of 1938 saw Blaydon take the lead with a try from Wearmouth.

Coventry replied with a try of their own two minutes later from Lespierre which Jones converted.

Bramwell ran in a try for the visitors which Baggott converted but in the 27th minute, Lespierre went over for his second try of the game and with Jones converting, Cov were 14-12 up at half-time.

Baggott kicked a 47th minute penalty to have Blaydon back in front but in the 57th minute, Cov came back when Pailor went over, converted by Jones who kicked a 70th minute penalty.

Pailor scored his second try in the 78th minute which Jones converted and it was Jones who had the final say kicking another penalty five miinutes into second half stoppage time to give Coventry a 34-15 win.
